The board at German champions Bayern Munich have sent a new-and-improved contract proposal the way of in-demand Athletic Club star Nico Williams.
That’s according to transfer insider Loïc Tanzi, who has on Sunday provided a fresh insight into the situation.
Wide-man Nico has of course made his way onto the wishlists of a whole host of European football’s leading clubs this summer.
The latter have over the last week positioned themselves as the frontrunners to strike a deal for the 22-year-old, with an agreement on the terms of a contract understood to be in place between the parties.
As alluded to above, though, if the latest word stemming from the media on Sunday is anything to go by, then Bayern have not yet thrown in the towel…
As per a report from journalist Loïc Tanzi:
‘Despite the player’s preference for FC Barcelona and advanced negotiations between the various parties, Bayern Munich have sent a new contract offer to Nico Williams.’
The contract proposal in question, it is understood, would come in at a hefty €10 million-per-season after tax, with the potential to rise to €12 million with add-ons included.
It now remains to be seen if Nico’s mind can be swayed by an offer which is thought to comfortably beat out that on the table at Barcelona.
