Several members of Liverpool's first-team squad have already been linked with an Anfield exit this summer.
The Reds are currently battling it out with many other Premier League teams for the final three Champions League spots and, if they don't qualify for the tournament, they'll be in massive trouble.
A lot of Liverpool's revenue comes from the Champions League with most players choosing to join the L4-based outfit due to how regularly they qualify for the competition.
Indeed, there have been some times when they've slipped up and only made it into the Europa League but, with how much money they spent last summer, anything but Champions League football will be a massive failure.
Due to their poor form, many changes are rumoured to be on their way to Anfield with many members of their squad being linked with exits.
But now, ahead of the 2026-27 summer window, the exit rumours about one of Liverpool's players have already been squashed by their agent.
Even though Alexis Mac Allister was one of Liverpool's best midfielders last term, the Argentinian has failed to meet expectations this time around.
Despite this, the former Brighton man has been one of Arne Slot's regular starters for most of the 2025-26 season with the Dutchman having a few favourites who always seem to make the cut.
However, most Liverpool fans are now growing tired of the Argentinian's poor performances with rumours of Real Madrid being interested in signing him piquing their interest.
But, unfortunately for them, a fresh update from Mac Allister's dad via WinWinSports has shared that the midfielder isn't in contact with any other clubs just yet.
"Alexis has a valid contract until June 2028 and so far we are not speaking publicly with any other club," he said.
"We believe that the club's fans deserve this level of respect from the player, and so far the club has not negotiated with us to renew the contract."
Even though it may seem harsh for Liverpool to try and force Mac Allister to move on, at the moment, it feels like the best thing for him.
The Argentinian has practically forgotten how to run and, even when he does try and make an impact on the game, he'll often send the ball high or wide from the goal.
The trifecta that the 'determined' midfielder formed with Dominik Szoboszlai and Ryan Gravenberch last term was unreal but, this term, things just haven't clicked and even though Liverpool's midfield is their most stacked area at the moment, it's one of their worst-performing.
Real's interest in Mac Allister has been well documented and, if the Argentinian ends up having a good World Cup, that could drive his price up by a few million pounds.
The fact that Los Blancos may also want to move Eduardo Camavinga and Aurelien Tchouameni on this summer also plays in Liverpool's favour as it means that they could try and negotiate a swap deal or at least get a decent chunk of change off their asking price.
