Dewsbury-Hall's late leveller earns Everton a point against Brentford | OneFootball

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall struck late for Everton to take a point away from Brentford after Igor Thiago's double.

It was a dreadful start for the visitors when Jordan Pickford brought down Kevin Schade with just a minute gone on the clock with the Everton goalkeeper receiving a yellow card for his troubles. Igor Thiago reliably dispatched the resulting penalty kick.

However, Everton pulled level after Jake O'Brien out-muscled Keane Lewis-Potter, who wanted a foul that would have been generous. From that, Gana Gueye floated in a cross that Beto headed home from close range.

The home side almost took the lead early into the second period when Mathias Jensen whipped in a free-kick delivery that Nathan Collins headed on to the bar.

The Bees did eventually take the lead again though when Michael Kayode cut inside and shot with the outside of his right boot. Igor Thiago then got the final touch from Kayode's shot to help divert it home to make it 2-1 in the 76th minute.

With time ticking down Everton equalised late on when a blocked effort fell kindly to Dewsbury-Hall who then found the bottom corner to make it 2-2.

It's no surprise that there was little to separate these two sides who both sit on 47 points with Brentford ahead in the table on goal difference.
