Deyverson thanked Palmeiras supporters on his return with LDU and said a future comeback to finish his career there could be possible, though not now.

According to Globo.com, before kick-off he took his daughters onto the pitch and played with them. He came on only in the closing stages of a 1-0 defeat at Nubank Parque. After the whistle he posed for photos and fielded requests for kit items and even a return.

He expressed gratitude for the affection and for calls for him to come back. He added that he does not expect to return now, noting Palmeiras have many players still to come through, but said ending his career at the club one day, perhaps on a one-year deal, would appeal.

At 35, he etched his name in the club’s history by scoring the goal that delivered the 2021 Libertadores. He made 144 appearances, scored 31 goals and won four trophies, the 2018 Brasileirão, 2021 Libertadores, 2022 Recopa and 2022 Paulistão.

He joined LDU in January and has 37 appearances and seven goals. He is not an automatic starter, competing for minutes with forward Estrada, who has 11 goals in 31 games this year.
