Didier Deschamps denounces ‘unacceptable’ Adrien Rabiot boos

Didier Deschamps was none too pleased with what he heard from some spectators at the Parc des Princes on Tuesday. When Adrien Rabiot (30) replaced Marcus Thuram (28), whistling and boos could be heard from many supporters.

For nearly a decade, Rabiot was with Paris Saint-Germain, starting in the youth set-ups before progressing to the senior squad. Last season, though, he left Juventus to join up with PSG’s bitter rivals, Olympique de Marseille. While the Frenchman is no longer with Marseille, it appears as though some fans haven’t forgiven him for previously joining up with them.

The French manager, however, came to the defence of his midfielder, telling TF1, “It’s unacceptable.”

“It’s a player from the French national team who wears this jersey. His club life doesn’t concern me, even though Adri is strong enough,” Deschamps continued.

Rabiot has been in the headlines multiple times throughout his career for the wrong reasons. He was put on the Marseille transfer list last month alongside Jonathan Rowe (22) for what was deemed unacceptable behaviour in the locker room after Marseille’s 1-0 defeat versus Stade Rennais.

On September 1, Rabiot returned to Serie A, signing a three-year contract with AC Milan. France came away with a 2-1 win on Tuesday in Paris.
