Ecuadorian left-back Diego Palacios has returned to Corinthians after his Karpaty loan was terminated on Wednesday, according to Meu Timao.

Karpaty and Corinthians mutually ended the agreement. Palacios had joined the Ukrainian side in August 2025 on a deal scheduled to run until 30 June 2026, but he played only twice, one Ukrainian Cup match and one league game.

He had not been named in a matchday squad since October.

Signed in 2024 to start at left-back, Palacios has endured chronic issues in his left knee, a situation that sparked a crisis in Corinthians' medical department. He has managed only four appearances for the club.

Corinthians have also sanctioned a loan to Universidad Católica in Ecuador until the end of 2026. His contract with Corinthians runs to 31 December 2027, and the new move will trim R$ 2.6 million from the wage bill.
