Dieng ‘to undergo’ intensive Lazio medical on August 20 | OneFootball

According to Sky Sport Italia, a medical for free agent Bamba Dieng has been scheduled for Thursday, August 20, in Rome.

The 26-year-old Senegal forward left Lorient when his contract expired on June 30, having previously played for Angers and Olympique Marseille.

The examinations are set to focus on his knee, an issue that has raised concerns and is causing Lazio to pause before offering a deal.

Gennaro Gattuso’s preferred option up front is Andrea Pinamonti of Sassuolo, but tight finances have pushed Lazio towards the free-agent market.

Dieng has also held talks this summer with Middlesbrough, Hull City and Wrexham.

He featured for Senegal at the 2026 World Cup, playing seven minutes in the 3-1 defeat to France before a Round of 16 exit.

Lazio have also made an offer to free agent Mauro Icardi after his Galatasaray contract expired.
