Bamba Dieng ‘to undergo’ Lazio medical after surprise agreement | OneFootball

Lazio are said to have reached an agreement with free agent Bamba Dieng, with a medical lined up, according to Italian reports.

Gianluca Di Marzio and Alfredo Pedullà report negotiations are at an advanced stage.

Matteo Moretto adds the club have set a medical for tomorrow, with detailed checks planned on the striker’s knee.

He also says Gennaro Gattuso preferred Andrea Pinamonti, with the club turning to Dieng for economic reasons.

Dieng, 26, came through Diambars in Senegal before joining Marseille in 2020. He later moved to Lorient, spent summer 2024 on loan at Angers, then returned last summer to score 15 goals in 25 appearances, the best haul of his career.

He was in Senegal’s World Cup squad this summer but featured for only seven minutes on the opening matchday against France.
