Dimitrievski: renewal talks soon at Valencia | OneFootball

Stole Dimitrievski says contract talks with Valencia will happen soon, with a possible extension beyond this season back on the agenda.

Speaking to Flashscore, he said: "Both I and the club are totally focused on the next matches to finish as high as possible in LaLiga, but without doubt there will be negotiations soon, and hopefully we can reach an agreement that suits both parties."

Months ago he sparked major controversy with an interview in Macedonia, criticising the club and questioning whether Julen Agirrezabala played on merit rather than due to a contract clause. At that point his relationship with Carlos Corberán looked hard to repair, not least after the final game of last season.

After internal discussions and a dressing-room apology, attempts were made to steady the situation. Agirrezabala’s injury returned the gloves to Dimitrievski, and he has responded with assured performances.

A renewal once thought unlikely is now on the table, with Valencia also holding a unilateral renewal clause.
