Dinamo Moscow launch surprise €15m bid for Lazio’s Ratkov | OneFootball

Lazio’s attacking plans have been thrown into flux by a surprise bid from Dinamo Moscow for Petar Ratkov, with the Serbian striker now holding the key to the club’s summer.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, the Russian side launched an unexpected raid and, within hours, had secured Lazio’s agreement to a proposal worth €15m plus bonuses.

It is a striking turn given Ratkov’s form, six goals in his last four friendlies under Gennaro Gattuso, and one that, should it go through, would see Lazio cash in on a player who had become an emblem of the club’s much-vaunted “talent room” scouting operation, having signed only in January from Red Bull Salzburg.

Pinamonti and Ivanović lined up as Ratkov replacements at Lazio

The decision now rests with the striker, who is weighing the offer from Moscow. Lazio, however, are determined not to be caught unprepared.

Should Ratkov say yes, the club have two replacements ready. Their preferred option is Franjo Ivanović, the 2003-born Benfica forward, on a loan with an obligation to buy, though the Portuguese club are currently only willing to sanction a permanent sale at a fee beyond Lazio’s reach.

Should Benfica refuse to budge, Lazio would turn to their alternative and formalise a €15m proposal for Sassuolo’s Andrea Pinamonti.

The Italy international, an Inter academy product, has been a reliable Serie A scorer and would offer Gattuso a proven domestic option.
