‘Discussions With Tottenham Will Resume’ – Club Could Still Land Spurs Man | OneFootball

Juventus will re-open talks with Tottenham Hotspur about signing goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario after the idea of signing Zion Suzuki on loan from Paris Saint-Germain hit choppy waters.

The Bianconeri have been in pursuit of a new goalkeeper for most of the summer transfer window but their efforts are yet to bear fruit.

Liverpool‘s Alisson was the club’s top target, before the Reds blocked his exit, then persistent efforts to sign Emi Martinez from Aston Villa failed to get off the ground.

The Italian giants then wanted Suzuki from Parma, but Paris Saint-Germain are signing the Japanese goalkeeper.

Juventus were then planning to loan Suzuki in from PSG, however that now looks unlikely to happen and they have been forced to dust off the chase of Vicario.

According to Italian outlet Calciomercato.com, ‘discussions with Tottenham will resume’ as the Bianconeri look to now bring in Vicario.

Juventus have had the Italian on their list all summer and coach Luciano Spalletti even spoke to Vicario directly about a move.

Vicario is an option that does not appear to have fully convinced Juventus, but is an achievable option as the clock ticks down on the transfer window.

It is unclear on what terms Tottenham are prepared to do business, with conflicting sale and loan claims, but the goalkeeper is out-of-favour at N17 and expected to move on.

Roberto De Zerbi is trusting in Antonin Kinsky as his number 1 at present, with experienced custodian Martin Dubravka providing cover.

For Vicario, if no move happens then he could well find himself kicking his heels until the January transfer window.

The 29-year-old still has a contract with Tottenham until the summer of 2028, but a departure would make sense for all parties.

Now it remains to be seen if Juventus can reach an agreement with Tottenham they are happy with and the trigger is pulled on a return to Italy for Vicario.
