Dominic Calvert-Lewin is back in training and says he is ready for Leeds United’s trip to Crystal Palace on Sunday after a minor knee issue.
“Yeah really good. It was always the plan for me to take a little break after the double game week we’ve just had in the Premier League. So everything is going to plan, I’m back in training tomorrow and ready to go.” The 28-year-old was speaking to CBS Sports.
The striker was left out of the squad that beat Norwich City 3-0 in the FA Cup fifth round, with Daniel Farke noting knee complaints in the build-up. He had been due a rest after a double Premier League gameweek.
Since returning to Leeds he has had minor niggles but has not missed a Premier League match through injury, with his only absence down to illness. When starting, he tends to finish games or be withdrawn late, not before the 85th minute since the start of November.
“We’ve got quite a close-knit group, it’s a really together dressing room which is refreshing. There are no egos. The minimum requirement is 100% effort and we’ve definitely got that which gives us confidence we can do the job.”
