"I love being here. My family are happy, I love the club, the supporters, playing for this team... and that is it," he told the Liverpool Echo, which reported that his representatives are in talks over a new deal and that he wants to stay long term.

He has been, without question, Liverpool's standout this season as they prepare to meet PSG in the Champions League quarter-finals on 8 and 14 April. He left RB Leipzig for €70 million three years ago.

"I do not like to talk about it too much but it is impossible not to think about it," he said. "Sometimes I think of it, I talk about it with my wife... I cannot even imagine being there, in Budapest, in the final. That is why I work every day."

"In Hungary, everyone knows what it means. My biggest dream is to win the Champions League. If I could win it there, I would sign straight away. We have given up nothing. We remain realistic, but we are still targeting two trophies, the FA Cup and the Champions League."

Liverpool visit Manchester City on Saturday at 13:45 in the FA Cup quarter-finals, then travel to the Parc des Princes on Wednesday at 21:00 for the first leg.
