Lazio and Inter Milan have reached a full agreement for the transfer of Ivan Provedel, according to reliable sources in the Italian media.
The two clubs have been engaged in direct talks over the past few weeks, but earlier this week, a report claimed that the deal has stalled, with the two parties arguing over the transfer fee. Nevertheless, Inter, Lazio and Provedel were all eager to push the deal over the line, so a solution has apparently been reached.
Italian journalists Gianluca Di Marzio and Alfredo Pedulla both believe that the Biancocelesti have agreed to sell the goalkeeper to the Italian champions for €3 million. The Friulian is thus expected to finalize his transfer next week. He will sign a three-year contract and is expected to earn €1.5 million plus bonuses per season.
Provedel has been Lazio’s first choice between the sticks since making the move from Spezia in the summer of 2022. But following the departure of his mentor Maurizio Sarri, and with only one year left on his contract, it was probably the best time for him to leave Formello and embark on a new experience.
The 32-year-old is said to be delighted to join the club he supported as a child. For their part, Inter have found themselves an experienced goalkeeper to replace Yann Sommer and act as a competent backup for Josep Martinez, who has been promoted to the No.1 role.
