FC Bayern made a clear statement on the 13th Bundesliga matchday – and rolled over VfB Stuttgart 5:0 in their own stadium. For the Swabians, the top match turned into a bitter humiliation that caused a lot of frustration after the final whistle

The VfB stars appeared dejected, self-critical and in some cases downright stunned on the Sky microphone

Stuttgart had gone into the match with high expectations, but it was already apparent in the first half that the record champions were setting a different tempo that evening. Ex-Bayern player Angelo Stiller put the situation bluntly in a nutshell. He said „We set out to do a lot and then to play such a bottomless half … you have to work through that. We were always a step too late, Bayern are too good for that.“

Striker Deniz Undav also found clear words and made no secret of how clear the difference was on the pitch. His devastating verdict „That was a class difference. We didn’t execute the plan we had. We gave them too much space. Olise, Kane, Diaz, Kimmich – they have brutal players. They finished us off! It’s sad, but we have to learn from this.“

Despite the deficit, Stuttgart at least remained within striking distance until the 66th minute – but then the team quickly fell apart. Joker Harry Kane, of all people, who had only come on as a substitute five minutes earlier, scored to make it 2-0 and trigger the Swabians‘ complete collapse. The English superstar added two more goals, scoring a flawless hat-trick in the Stuttgart stadium and securing the FCBinside rating of 1
