Borussia Dortmund are close to finalising a deal with Wolverhampton Wanderers for striker Fabio Silva.
Talks between the two clubs are advanced, with a transfer fee of around €25 million (£21.6m) under discussion.
Negotiations are continuing over the structure of the payment and the addition of performance-related bonuses.
The move would end Silva’s four-year spell at Wolves, where he struggled to secure a regular role.
The Portuguese forward joined the Premier League side from Porto in 2020 for a then-club-record £35m.
At the time, he was regarded as one of Europe’s most promising young talents, but opportunities at Molineux were limited.
Since 2021, Silva has spent most of his career on loan, with stints at Anderlecht, PSV Eindhoven, Rangers and Las Palmas.
His most recent season in Spain brought 10 goals and three assists in La Liga, although Las Palmas were ultimately relegated.
Silva last appeared competitively for Wolves in the first half of the 2023-24 campaign, making 10 appearances before his loan to Rangers.
In total, he has played 75 matches for the club, scoring five goals and registering six assists.
Speaking earlier this year, Silva admitted that his £35m price tag created pressures that were hard to manage.
He said he felt he ‘didn’t have time and space to make mistakes’ and that expectations often overshadowed his age.
Now 23, he believes he has matured through his experiences across different leagues in Europe.
If completed, the Dortmund move would mark a significant step for Silva, offering him Champions League football and a platform to relaunch his career.
For Wolves, the deal continues a summer of high-profile departures.
Matheus Cunha, Rayan Ait-Nouri, Goncalo Guedes, Nelson Semedo and Pablo Sarabia have already left Molineux during this window.
The club are also managing interest in striker Jorgen Strand Larsen, with Newcastle United seeing a £50m bid rejected earlier today.
Dortmund, meanwhile, have been seeking attacking reinforcements after parting ways with several squad players.
They view Silva as a player with untapped potential who could thrive in the Bundesliga’s more open style.
Both clubs are pushing to reach a final agreement quickly, with the deadline fast approaching.
If completed, the transfer would bring an end to Silva’s challenging spell in England and give him the chance of a fresh start in Germany.
