Yesterday, Serhou Guirassy was taken off in the 61st minute during the Bundesliga clash against Bayer Leverkusen (2-1). The Borussia Dortmund striker was clearly displeased with the decision. The Guinean forward showed his annoyance and refused to shake hands with his coach Niko Kovac. Speaking to the press, the Croatian manager downplayed the incident.

"I can understand that a player does not want to be substituted. With Serhou, as I’ve said before, we understand each other perfectly. It may sound strange, but it’s the truth. That’s why I understand his frustration, but he also knows why he was replaced. Everything is fine, there’s no problem. Honestly, I wouldn’t like it the other way around—if a player was happy to come off or didn’t want more playing time," the coach explained.
