Double session blow for Boca as Ander Herrera ends training early | OneFootball

Boca endured a difficult double session as Ander Herrera failed to complete the afternoon training, hours after Exequiel Zeballos’ setback.

According to LaNumer12.com.ar, the evening workout began with confirmation that Zeballos will miss Sunday due to a muscle tear.

The same pattern followed, Ander Herrera was unable to finish the physical drills set by Claudio Úbeda’s staff. The Spanish midfielder felt discomfort and left before his team-mates.

Herrera is a doubt for Sunday. The coming hours will be key to assess the former Athletic Bilbao player and he could undergo tests depending on how he responds.

The squad are scheduled to train on Thursday afternoon at La Bombonera, as is customary under Claudio Úbeda. It remains to be seen if the midfielder takes part, which could be decisive for any starting role on Sunday.

Boca visit Vélez Sarsfield on 8 February at 22:15 at the José Amalfitani in Liniers, the fourth round of the Torneo Apertura. Nazareno Arasa will referee and TNT Sports Premium will broadcast. The Xeneize are chasing a third win in the championship.
