The Africa Cup of Nations semi-finals are beginning to shape up as four nations aimed to book their place in the last four on Friday.

DR Congo turn on the style against Guinea

Scorers: Mbemba 27′, Wissa (PEN) 65′, Masuaku 82′; Bayo (PEN) 21′

DR Congo set up a semi-final meeting with either Mali or Ivory Coast after dispensing of Guinea in style.

Mohamed Bayo had opened the scoring from the penalty spot after he was charged over by Chancel Mbemba in the area.

But Guinea’s lead proved short-lived as Mbemba redeemed himself by drilling home an equaliser just six minutes later.

Brentford’s Yoane Wissa tipped the balance for the Leopards midway through the second half with a penalty after Silas Wamangituka was tripped by Julian Jeanvier.

Sébastien Desabre’s side saved the best for last as Arthur Masuaku produced an incredible long-range free kick to extend their lead eight minutes from time.

Nigeria reach 15th semi-final against Angola

Nigeria booked their place in a 15th AFCON semi-final after a hard-fought win over Angola.

Ademola Lookman broke the deadlock shortly before the interval with a sweeping finish from a sublime cutback from Moses Simon.

But the Super Eagles were made to work for their spot in the last four as Zini crashed a second-half effort against the post after a well-timed run.

Victor Osimhen appeared to have staved off any potential doubts by heading home from a free kick from Lookman, only for a VAR review to rule him offside.

Jose Peseiro’s men will now face the winner of Saturday’s quarter-final encounter between Cape Verde and South Africa in the last four.
