WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Wildcats this afternoon.
Johns made her mark in the Barclays Women’s Championship at former club Watford last season. Despite The Golden Girls ending the campaign bottom of the table, Johns impressed with the forward scoring eight goals in 20 Barclays Women’s Championship outings. The 21-year-old was a thorn in Durham’s side with the player scoring against The Wildcats in both fixtures.
Following Watford’s relegation, Johns was expected to be a player in demand and it has now been revealed that Durham have won the race to secure her services.
After making the move to Maiden Castle, Johns said “I’m buzzing to be here. I played against Durham last season and they were a really tough challenge, so it’s good to get to know all the girls and the staff and I’m really happy to be here.
“I’m really looking forward to it and hoping to improve on those numbers from last season.
“I work really hard, making runs in behind and I can come to feet as well but ultimately, I like to score goals and set other people up.”
Johns is Durham’s third signing of the summer transfer window.
