Fergusson is well-travelled in her career to date. In England, the player has featured for Aston Villa, Bristol City, Yeovil Town, Sheffield United, Leicester City, Coventry United and Wolverhampton Wanderers. Fergusson has also played in Scotland with Celtic and in New Zealand with Wellington Phoenix. The former England youth international will now be hoping to make her mark in her latest adventure in the North East with Durham.

After signing on with Durham, Fergusson said “I’m really excited. It felt like the right time to be back home – I had some amazing experiences abroad but it feels really good to be back.

“The girls are great and it almost feels a bit familiar. They’ve been welcoming and I feel like I’ve settled in quite quickly.

“I’m a forward – I like to be direct and quite aggressive and passionate in my play. I like to work hard out of possession and then create things going forward.

“The fans are everything, aren’t they? They can bring us a lot of energy this season and we’ll thoroughly appreciate that.”

Fergusson is Durham’s fourth signing of the summer transfer window.
