According to AD, Dutch justice and security minister David Van Weel said matches in the Netherlands will be ended immediately if fireworks or flares are used, with spectators sent home.
The move follows trouble in the stands during SC Cambuur v Feyenoord on 23 August in Leeuwarden, which finished 2-5. Visiting fans launched fireworks, leaving several spectators injured, including burns, hearing damage and eye injuries.
The match was halted for about 20 minutes in the first half after Feyenoord supporters in the away section lit a large number of red smoke flares and set off fireworks.
Some devices were directed towards the Cambuur stands, while one exploded on the pitch only a few metres from Feyenoord goalkeeper Tjark Ernst.
Van Weel set out that the rule applies from now on.
