Paulo Dybala’s future at Roma remains an open question, but the contractual framework is now defined.
The Argentine’s contract is expiring, and as Il Messaggero highlights, the coming months risk turning into a long wait and see, with no real breakthrough.
This situation, especially given the club’s intention to overhaul their attacking lineup, makes the player’s fate far from certain. Dybala arrived on a free transfer and, similarly, could leave Roma.
Currently, there are no meetings scheduled regarding a contract extension, nor are there any concrete signs of that happening.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the club wants to carefully evaluate his condition first, considering a recent period of physical ailments and reduced use, partly due to technical issues.
For its part, the player’s position is clear. Dybala is doing well in Rome and would not like to leave. Right now, his priorities are different: he’ll become a father for the first time in March, and he and Oriana Sabatini have decided that the birth will take place in the capital.
This decision rules out any possibility of an immediate transfer, at least in the January transfer window.
Meanwhile, rumors have circulated in Argentina of possible interest from Boca Juniors, where Leandro Paredes, a friend and former teammate of the Argentine, plays.
These rumors, at present, don’t seem to impact the player’s decisions, as he intends to finish the season without any major upsets. Much, if not everything, will depend on Roma’s decisions.
Without a discussion about his contract renewal and with a strategy focused on reshaping the attack, Dybala’s future appears increasingly dependent on the club’s decisions.
For now, these decisions seem to be excluding the Argentine: Massara and Gasp seem to be pursuing the idea of revolutionizing the Giallorossi’s attack.
