Paulo Dybala’s agent has held talks with Galatasaray, fuelling transfer rumours again after an eventful summer in which the Argentinean rejected a big-money offer from Al Qadsiah.

Dybala could leave Roma in the January transfer window, with Italian sources suggesting that club directors are ready to release the Argentinean next month.

The player’s agent, Carlos Novel, was spotted at Galatasaray’s home game against Trabzonspor last night alongside a transfer intermediary close to the Turkish giants. Novel is believed to have discussed Dybala’s availability with Galatasaray.

The Argentinean striker sees his Roma contract expire in June 2025 and Roma are uninterested in discussing a new deal.

Trouble began last summer when Dybala’s salary was raised to €8m for the final year of his contract. That’s roughly €16m gross, a figure that could be doubled if Dybala plays 45 minutes in 15 games this season.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, the contract extension clause will be automatically activated if Dybala plays seven more games this term.

Dybala’s long walk out of Roma started in August when Daniele De Rossi admitted the Argentinean was not unsellable.

A few days later, rumours of interest from Qatari and Saudi sides emerged, and ultimately, Al Qadsiah made their offer to Roma and the player.

La Joya delighted Roma fans by rejecting Al Qadsiah’s proposal, but things at the Stadio Olimpico haven’t gone as either side expected over the last few months.

Roma have already changed three coaches and are just two points above the relegation zone, so club owners are ready to listen to offers for many players in January, starting an inevitable revolution.

Dybala has only scored two goals and provided one assist in 18 appearances this term, and the Giallorossi have never opened talks to discuss a new deal, suggesting that he’s not part of the club’s long-term plans.

It remains to be seen if the Argentinean will confirm his summer decision and reject more offers in the January transfer window, but the Giallorossi are surely prepared to part company with their star striker.
