Max Eberl criticised Joshua Kimmich after a late lapse that let Eintracht Frankfurt back into the contest, taking issue with the risk taken in Bayern’s own box.
According to BuLi News, Bayern were 3-1 up with fewer than five minutes remaining when an error offered Frankfurt a lifeline.
Jonas Urbig passed to Kimmich inside his area. Instead of clearing, the Germany international tried a square ball to Kim Min-jae. Arnaud Kalimuendo anticipated it, intercepted, and finished to make it 3-2, setting up a tense finale.
Eberl, visibly unimpressed afterwards, said the situation was avoidable. He acknowledged the desire to solve problems with skilful play but felt this choice went too far, adding that when danger grows it should be cleared to avoid needless jeopardy. He later described the decision as harakiri.
Kimmich urged against overreaction. He accepted he could have handled the moment differently, yet defended Bayern’s commitment to building from the back and dismissed hopeful long balls, arguing that such a shift would invite more pressing and make the team easier to face, so their usual approach should be maintained.
