Just a few days after Jamal Musiala collapsed during Bayern Munich’s game against RB Leipzig in the Telekom Cup (3–1), he was back on the field against Heidenheim. But not for long—then came the next shock.
Musiala came on as a substitute during the second half and immediately set up a chance for Harry Kane. But after just a few minutes, he was back on the ground, and once again—just as they had against Leipzig—the medical staff rushed onto the field to treat him.
It took a while, but then the Bayern star was able to get back up on his own and leave the field. He went straight to the locker room, where he was apparently examined.
At first, there was uncertainty; none of the Bayern officials commented immediately after the incident. That is, until Max Eberl entered the mixed zone some time after the match—which the record champions won 4–2.
When asked by the journalists present, the sporting director of FC Bayern spoke briefly about Musiala, saying: “Jamal will comment on this shortly. We knew about it and are aware of the situation. Jamal will comment on it. He’s in the locker room right now, getting changed and taking a shower.”

The FC Bayern sporting director deflected further questions, once again referring to the player himself. This, of course, leaves many questions unanswered—and room for speculation.
In any case, two incidents of this nature in such a short time are cause for concern. Against Leipzig, the emergency medical team was on the field for an extended period before the all-clear was given. In that instance as well, the player was ultimately able to leave the field on his own, though he appeared visibly dazed.
We’ll likely find out soon exactly how Musiala is doing and what the problem is once the player is able to provide an update. Then we’ll finally have some clarity.
