On Wednesday, Harry Kane was awarded the Golden Shoe as Europe’s top scorer. The FC Bayern forward scored 36 goals in the Bundesliga alone during the 2025–26 season. And now he’s set his sights on winning the Ballon d’Or as well.

Some experts believe that Kane definitely has a good chance in the race for this individual award. And for the Englishman himself, this title is also a top priority.

Meanwhile, officials at the record-holding champions are increasingly promoting their star player and hoping that the Englishman can win the Ballon d’Or.

Ballon d’Or: Eberl is beating the drum for Kane

On the sidelines of the Golden Shoe award ceremony, sporting director Max Eberl also spoke about Kane.  “We’ve broken many records and had a great season. The fact that Harry is now receiving this award—his first, for now—and we’re hoping and keeping our fingers crossed that there’s an even bigger one to come, is a very good sign for Bayern,” he told reporters.

At FC Bayern, Kane isn’t just a goal-scorer—he’s also continued to develop in general over the past few years, and that applies to his entire game.

“Of course, we signed Harry as a goal-scorer—primarily for the goals he’d already scored at Tottenham. But he’s also done an outstanding job. People often highlight how important he is, not just in the box. He’s a player who can also be found in completely different areas of the field. To me, he’s a role model—exactly what a soccer player should be. He’s hungry for success, even though he’s already at a certain age,” Eberl analyzed.

He then once again made a case for Kane regarding the Ballon d’Or: “For me, there’s really no question that he has to win the Ballon d’Or, because he simply embodies the perfect soccer player.”
