Ebnoutalib’s big night | OneFootball

The Eintracht forward made his debut for Germany, while there were wins for Ritsu Doan’s Japan and Love Arrhov’s Sweden U19s. Here is our international round-up from an Eintracht perspective.

Eintracht forward Younes Ebnoutalib was introduced after 30 minutes for the injured Kai Havertz, making his debut for Germany.

First attempt after a few minutes

It did not take long for Ebnoutalib, who has registered five goals and two assists in five matches in all competitions this season, to get involved in the game. The 23-year-old had barely been on the field when he fired an effort at goal from a tight angle, forcing a save from goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen. It was the first of a number of actions in his first 60 minutes of international football. “He did brilliantly,” said Germany coach Jürgen Klopp after the 1-1 draw against Netherlands at the Johan Cruyff ArenA in Amsterdam. 

Wins for Doan and Arrhov

Japan meanwhile claimed a late 3-1 win against Uruguay in a friendly. As he did in his country’s last match against Brazil in the World Cup almost three months ago, Doan led the team out as captain at the Miyagi Stadium in Rifu and played 64 minutes on his 70th international appearance.

Love Arrhov was also in action in a friendly for the Swedish U19 team against Ukraine. In his tenth international in this age group, Arrhov set up both goals for Strasbourg’s Benjamin Brantlind in a 2-1 victory.

Onyedika, Uzun and Chaibi get started

Three Eagles are involved in Friday’s international action. Can Uzun and Türkiye take on France in the UEFA Nations League, while in qualifying for the Africa Cup of Nations, Raphael Onyedika and Nigeria meet Madagascar and Farès Chaibi’s Algeria face Zambia.
