Eckert gives update as Jander suffers minor quad setback | OneFootball

According to Daily Echo, Saints head coach Tonda Eckert confirmed Caspar Jander has suffered a minor setback in his recovery from a quad injury.

Jander, 23, has yet to feature this season after sustaining the problem early in their first pre-season friendly at Eastleigh. He will not return in time for Saturday's lunchtime trip to Lincoln City.

Eckert said they would do everything to get him back on the pitch as quickly as possible. He added they still hope to have him available before the international break, although an earlier target of the next two games might slip.

In Jander's absence, Cameron Bragg has started most of Saints' matches this season. Kuryu Matsuki has also been used centrally alongside Flynn Downes.

James Ward-Prowse has come off the bench in the last two league games and is pushing towards a first start since returning to Saints.
