Eddie Howe says Bournemouth’s winner against his Newcastle side was “systematic” of the problems they have had this season.
Adrien Truffert struck late on after Will Osula had equalised following Marcus Tavernier’s opener to hand Newcastle a 2-1 defeat at St James’ Park.
“I’m beginning to say the same things as well and that’s a huge frustration for all of us and that’s the players feeling that frustration as much as anyone else,” Howe said after the game.
“I think the late goals, there was no reason for that to happen today.
“The big moment of the game goes against us and there’s a couple of big actions in that goal. We lose headers, we lose our runner, we let a cross come in the box, that’s been systematic of what’s happened in recent games.”
Anthony Gordon missed the game with an injury picked up during the week and Howe is unsure how long he will be out for.
“He missed training I think Thursday and Friday with a problem he picked up on Wednesday,” the Newcastle boss explained.
“We knew he wasn’t going to be ready.
“With Anthony, we’re unclear. I don’t think it’s a long-term injury. Whether me makes next week, we’ll have to see how he goes in training.”
Tino Livramento, meanwhile, was forced off with another injury in the defeat and Howe admits it is a huge blow to lose him.
“For Tino, that’s a huge blow for him and for us,” he said. “I thought he, in part with Kieran’s introduction, made us stronger. Losing him was a big blow.”
