According to Glorioso 1904, a return to Benfica for Ederson is becoming increasingly unrealistic, despite ongoing uncertainty in goal.
The primary obstacle is the 33-year-old’s contract with Fenerbahçe, which runs until 2028, alongside a wage viewed as beyond Benfica’s means.
There is also no scope to negotiate an exit with the Istanbul club, who are not prepared to facilitate a deal. Given those conditions, Benfica do not see a pathway to proceed.
The debate has sharpened after Anatoliy Trubin lost his starting place and Samuel Soares failed to secure full backing. Even so, Rui Costa’s hierarchy considers Ederson out of reach for now.
The Brazil international remains highly regarded at the Luz after his previous success for the club.
