Edin Terzic arrives late to Athletic training after delayed return flight | OneFootball

Edin Terzic arrived late to Athletic’s Wednesday session at Lezama after his return flight from Seville landed behind schedule. According to El Correo, the head coach missed the start of training.

He had travelled with Mikel González to the Sánchez Pizjuán to watch Spain beat Croatia, where Unai Simón started and Nico Williams struck La Roja’s fourth.

The plane back to Loiu was due at 10.35 but touched down at 11.09, two days before the EH Txapela final against Real Sociedad at Anoeta at 19:00.

Athletic remain in the international break. Terzic used it to observe Spain with three Athletic players involved, Simón started, Laporte was rested, and Nico came on in the second half to score.

Spain still have two fixtures, after Saturday’s win over England, against Czechia and Croatia before Terzic can call on his three world champions again. Djaló is with Guinea-Bissau and scored, and Padilla is with Mexico.

Athletic return to action on Saturday 10 April at Rayo Vallecano in Vallecas at 14:00. They then go to Valencia for a double commitment, on Saturday 17 at 21:00 against Aguirre’s team, before the rescheduled game with Levante on Wednesday 21 at 20:00. They finish by hosting Getafe on Sunday 25 at San Mamés.
