Edoardo Bove netted his first Watford goal in the Championship against Wrexham on Tuesday, marking a significant step in his comeback. According to L'Équipe, the Italian paused his career after suffering a cardiac arrest during a Fiorentina match in December 2024.

Introduced on 83rd minute, he scored 11 minutes later, reacting first after Marc Bola’s shot came back off the bar at 90+4.

The 23-year-old joined Watford at the end of January and made his first competitive appearance in mid-February.

The goal was largely symbolic as Watford were already in front, the match finished 3-1. It was his first strike since 27 October 2024, in Serie A against AS Roma, his former club, when he recorded one goal and two assists.

Since arriving, the Italy Under-21 international has featured in six matches, all as a substitute, for a total of 89 minutes.
