Édouard Mendy has signed a two-year extension with Al-Ahli, keeping him at the Saudi Pro League club until 2028. The club said in a social media post that the Senegal goalkeeper had agreed fresh terms.

Al-Ahli are fourth in the Saudi top flight. Mendy left Chelsea for Al-Ahli in 2023, having previously played for Stade de Reims from 2016 to 2019 and Rennes from 2019 to 2020.

Since arriving in Saudi Arabia, the 33-year-old has been a fixture for Al-Ahli, making 92 appearances in two and a half seasons and missing 13.

The message described the agreement as concluded and the player ready.

He might hope to miss a few more club games soon, which would signal a strong run with Senegal at the Africa Cup of Nations.
