Egypt will go head-to-head with Nigeria on Saturday, January 17, in the third-place playoff of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON 2025).

The "Pharaohs" were edged out in the semifinals by Senegal (0-1), while the "Super Eagles" fell to Morocco on penalties, 2-4, after a goalless draw in regulation time.

Historically, Egypt has played in five AFCON third-place matches, coming away with three wins and two losses.
