Eibar sign Bernat until end of season with option

Eibar have signed Juan Bernat until the end of the season, with an option for a second year. According to AS, the 32-year-old left-back arrives as a free agent and has passed a medical.

The Spaniard, quick and attack-minded, came through Valencia's academy and played 74 senior games for the club. He has 11 caps for Spain.

His form earned a move to Bayern Munich, where he featured from 2014/2015 to 2018/2019, making 102 appearances and winning four Bundesligas and three German Super Cups.

Bernat was later sold to Paris Saint-Germain, adding 114 games up to the 2024/2025 campaign and lifting four Ligue 1 titles.

Across the past two seasons he spent loan spells at Benfica and Villarreal. In January 2025 Villarreal completed a permanent deal, although he subsequently joined Getafe, his last stop before SD Eibar.
