Eintracht Frankfurt confirm Albert Riera as new head coach

Eintracht Frankfurt have confirmed Albert Riera as their new head coach, and he will start on Monday, succeeding Dino Toppmöller.
Sky Germany reports Frankfurt are paying a fixed fee of €700,000 for the 43-year-old, with up to €1 million in potential bonuses.
Riera recently led Slovenian top-flight side NK Celje to the national cup in his first season in charge. This campaign they sit top with a 12-point lead. Celje also reached the UEFA Conference League play-off round.
His first head coaching role brought a league and cup double with Olimpija Ljubljana in 2023. He later gained experience with Girondins de Bordeaux in 2023-24.
Frankfurt will also add assistants Pablo Remon Arteta and Lorenzo Dolcetti, both of whom worked with Riera at Celje. Arteta holds a UEFA Pro Licence, while Dolcetti has a UEFA A Licence. Assistant Jan Fießer and goalkeeper coach Jan Zimmermann remain on the staff.
