Bild claims Eintracht Frankfurt have opened talks with Rennes to sign centre-back Lilian Brassier, 26, who is under contract until 2029. A transfer worth around €12m is being discussed.

Brassier returned to his boyhood club in January 2025 after six difficult months at Marseille, and he started most games last season.

The picture in Rennes’s central defence has shifted with the arrivals of Charlie Cresswell and Gonçalo Oliveira. Ahead of the window, the club understood Brassier was open to a move, while Roma had shown interest.

Roma have since changed their sporting leadership. Rennes signed Oliveira, also left-footed, then added Cresswell, and Brassier has accepted the prospect of departing.

He was not in the group that trained this week for Sunday’s home game against PSG at 20:45, and any move could be his first experience abroad.
