Eintracht Frankfurt are working on a move for Stade Rennais centre-back Brassier, with talks under way and the 26-year-old viewed as their top option, Sport BILD reports.

Brassier is under contract with the Ligue 1 club until the summer of 2029 and made 27 appearances last season. Rennes are said to be willing to let the left-footer depart, though whether an agreement can be reached remains unclear.

Brassier leads a shortlist that also includes AJ Auxerre’s Clément Akpa, 24. The Financial Times reported in April 2025 that Frankfurt had targeted Akpa last summer.

Eintracht head coach Adi Hütter is said to be particularly taken by the playing style and mentality of both Ligue 1 centre-backs.

Thilo Kehrer, who previously worked with Hütter at AS Monaco, and Diogo Leite have also recently been linked with Frankfurt.
