However, the signs are starting to suggest that former Gladbach, Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig coach, Marco Rose, will take over the vacant position.

While Eintracht Frankfurt has already identified him as their preferred candidate, the 49-year-old is said to have opened the door to a collaboration, reports BILD.

Negotiations between the parties are said to be in their final stages, even despite Rose planning to say away from coaching – however, he is willing to make an exception.

Ultimately, one sticking point remains: the coach is still under contract with his former RB Leipzig, and in theory, Eintracht Frankfurt would have to pay a transfer fee to their league rivals.

Should a collaboration with the Leipzig native unexpectedly fall through, Frankfurt have numerous alternatives in reserve such as Xabi Alonso, Roger Schmidt and Edin Terzic.

At today's press conference, Krösche hinted: “We are looking for a coach who plays a certain style of football: courageous, offensive. But of course, we are also looking for someone who is capable and willing to develop players.”
