Newcastle United striker William Osula is attracting interest in the transfer market again as suitors look to price him away from St James’ Park.
Despite missing out on signing the Newcastle centre-forward on deadline day, Eintracht Frankfurt are still showing interest in his services and want to do a loan deal with the Geordies this winter window.
Osula has proven a handy option for Newcastle, with Nick Woletemade still adapting to the Premier League and Yoane Wissa struggling with fitness issues following his big-money move.
Osula has bagged three goals and an assist in nine appearances for Eddie Howe’s side this term, giving the Magpies a different type of offence off the bench.
Still, the 22-year-old hasn’t convinced Howe about giving him a starting berth and might be interested in a switch to Germany, where he can establish himself by playing consistently.
It remains to be seen why a team that has conceded 16 goals in six league games and six goals in two Champions League outings are pushing for a new striker, but they are keen.
‘Contact with his management remains ongoing’, and Frankfurt seem interested in resurrecting another move.
However, Newcastle should think twice before letting Osula go. At 22, he’s still developing, but his energy, pace, and willingness to press make him a valuable option in Howe’s rotation.
He’s a team-first player who doesn’t complain about limited minutes and has already shown an eye for goal when called upon.
In a season where depth could define Newcastle’s campaign across multiple competitions, keeping Osula ensures flexibility and fresh legs up front.
With Woltemade still finding his rhythm and Wissa yet to hit top gear, Osula offers the hunger and directness that can change games late on.
He has qualities that cannot be easily replaced midway through a demanding Premier League season.
