Eintracht Frankfurt ‘to consider’ €27m buy option for Arnaud Kalimuendo

Eintracht Frankfurt are weighing up activating the €27m purchase clause for on-loan Forest striker Arnaud Kalimuendo, Sport Bild claims. The option in the 24-year-old’s loan was previously viewed as unlikely, but the club are now reassessing it.

Kalimuendo has scored three Bundesliga goals from five starts. He recently missed time with a shoulder problem, then returned quickly to score off the bench in Saturday’s defeat to Bayern Munich.

Whether he starts more often is unclear with lead striker Jonathan Burkardt back from injury.

New head coach Albert Riera is said to be a strong admirer of the former PSG academy forward. A permanent deal would also carry an annual salary commitment of €3m.

Kalimuendo may need to add significantly to his tally before Frankfurt commit to a permanent move.
