Eintracht Frankfurt ‘working on’ new loan for Arnaud Kalimuendo | OneFootball

Eintracht Frankfurt are working on a late-window return for Nottingham Forest striker Arnaud Kalimuendo, with talks over a second loan gathering pace. Sport Bild reports that Frankfurt hope to finalise the 24-year-old’s move, with negotiations described as advanced.

Kalimuendo was not included in Forest’s squad for Saturday’s 2-2 draw at Liverpool. A switch would bring him back to familiar surroundings only months after his first spell in Hessen ended.

He joined Frankfurt from Forest in January on a six-month loan that included a reported €27m purchase option.

The former Paris Saint-Germain academy forward became a useful part of Eintracht’s attack, scoring six times in 19 Bundesliga outings in the second half of 2025/26. He struck early against Werder Bremen and Hoffenheim, then briefly missed time with a shoulder injury before returning to score against Bayern Munich.

Despite weighing up the option in February, Frankfurt ultimately chose not to trigger the clause. Another loan would offer a different financial route for a player already attuned to the squad, club and Bundesliga.

Frankfurt begin the new campaign with Jonathan Burkardt among their forwards and Younes Ebnoutalib pushing for minutes. The immediate question is whether the clubs can agree acceptable terms in time. With talks intensifying and Kalimuendo omitted at the weekend, a second stint at the Waldstadion is once again becoming more concrete.
