“The final whistle marked the official start of our holidays,” said Dino Toppmöller after his side’s last game of 2025 in Hamburg on Saturday. “We’ll resume training on 2 January at 15:00 CET. It’ll be a short week because then the following Friday we kick things off again at home to Dortmund.”

That fixture at Deutsche Bank Park gets under way at 20:30 CET on 9 January. “We hope all of the boys return healthy, in good spirits and refreshed,” Toppmöller said. “January will be absolutely packed, and it’s something we’re all looking forward to.”

Women

The women’s team have slightly more time off, and return for performance tests on Monday 5 January. They will have a training camp in Portugal from Saturday 10 January to Thursday 15 January.

Their first Google Pixel Women’s Bundesliga match of the year will be at home to TSG Hoffenheim on Sunday 25 January at Stadion am Brentanobad (kick-off 15:15 CET).
