El Hadrioui tells Marco Silva El Karouani has ‘a lot of talent’ at Benfica | OneFootball

Former Benfica left-back Abdelkrim El Hadrioui believes compatriot Souffian El Karouani has the quality to earn a starting place under Marco Silva.

"El Karouani, I wish you every success. He will succeed, he has a lot of talent," he said to A Bola.

El Karouani recently arrived at the Luz on loan from Al-Qadsiah, with Benfica holding a 10 million euro option to buy at the end of the season.

El Hadrioui, signed from FAR for 45 mil contos, roughly 420,000 euros today, represented Benfica for two seasons, making 29 appearances with one goal and two assists. "My time at Benfica was marked by the unconditional love of the supporters. In general, I was very well received and felt at ease among the Portuguese."

He also expressed pride in his countrymen and in El Karouani’s move. "I am proud of all Moroccan players who have gone to big clubs, especially El Karouani, signed by Benfica. As you know, Benfica are a historic team who recruit great players and offer them important opportunities. I am happy for him."
