Eldense announce Messi to take ownership of club | OneFootball

Eldense said in a statement on Thursday afternoon that Lionel Messi has acquired the club, ending three weeks of official silence.

That lull was effectively broken on 17 October when former president Carolina Holguín, in a farewell letter, revealed the change of ownership and identified the incoming owner, pending completion of transfer registration formalities.

Completion fundamentally depends on the mandatory authorisation of the Consejo Superior de Deportes (CSD). The process also faces a removable obstacle, an embargo on 15% of the club’s shares ordered by the Tribunal de Instancia de Alcobendas amid a debt claim by Pascual Pérez against Holguín.

The announcement framed this as the start of a new and exciting chapter in the club’s more than 100 years of history. It set out a long-term project aimed at strengthening CD Eldense’s sporting, institutional and social development.

The statement was brief, focusing on the new era and its long-term aims for the institution.
