Liverpool must think about replacing Mo Salah and the ideal player appears to have fallen into their laps. Will they take advantage?
Mo Salah’s future has never really been in more doubt than this. And that’s saying something, given he played the majority of last season on an expiring contract.
But there were links to the Saudi Pro League during the week, suggesting that they could take advantage of the fact he was no longer a guaranteed starter at Anfield. Those links have only become more relevant, haven’t they?
Salah spoke to reporters on Saturday evening and he vented about not being in the starting lineup. He talked about feeling as though promises to him had been broken by the club and that he didn’t have relationship with Arne Slot any more.
It makes it a lot more likely that Salah departs in January. But that would also mean that a replacement has to come in - Liverpool are short on wingers as it is, let alone if their star one leaves.
That replacement, though, might be falling into the Reds’ laps.
Le10Sport reports that Bradley Barcola might be available to buying clubs. Paris Saint-Germain are currently looking into major contract renewals and Barcola is one of them.
They’ve submitted an offer that would, apparently, make him one of their highest earners. The problem is that Barcola isn’t entirely happy with his status at the club.
He’s not a regular starter, getting the nod in just nine of PSG’s 15 fixtures. In fact, if you tally up his minutes, the winger has played for about 8.4 full matches - so well under the maximum playing time in Ligue 1.
