Corinthians beat Taubaté 6-2 in the Paulista Feminino, with 18-year-old keeper Ana Morganti absent due to a U20 World Cup call-up. Head coach Emily Lima welcomed the selections of Morganti and fellow 18-year-old Dulce Maria, and urged care over promoting youngsters.

According to Meu Timao, Lima said the first-team and academy staff work together on a shared plan, but she is wary of rushing pathways. She noted that juggling U17, U20 and senior levels can backfire, so there is no hurry.

Corinthians have rarely promoted many homegrown players to the women’s senior squad. Morganti will be absent for the Brabas during the tournament. She has yet to debut but trains with the squad and has featured on the bench, with Lelê, Nicole and Rillary covering the position in the meantime.

Lima stressed the need to strengthen the pathway so Corinthians can lean on homegrown talent rather than constant recruitment. She said senior staff must support youth coaches to make the joint project work.

Corinthians finished third and will face Red Bull Bragantino in a play-in for a semi-final spot. Before that, they meet Cruzeiro in the Brasileirão quarter-finals, first leg on Monday at Arena Independência at 19:15.
