Emmanuel Essiam loaned to FC Winterthur

Emmanuel Essiam is on the move again. The 23-year-old Ghanaian midfielder is temporarily leaving FC Basel to join FC Winterthur on loan until the summer of 2027.

His spell in Belgium thus comes to a premature end. After spending the past six months on loan at Royal Francs Borains, Essiam will continue his development in the Swiss Super League, a competition he already knows well.

Having arrived in Basel in January 2021 from Ghana, he has been loaned out several times in recent seasons, notably to FC Stade Lausanne Ouchy and FC Aarau, as well as an earlier stint at Winterthur. With eleven first-team appearances for Basel under his belt, the midfielder now hopes to find consistency and establish himself for good at the highest level of Swiss football.
