England Deal Falls Through: Here Are Bayern’s Remaining Options for Boey | OneFootball

FC Bayern was still trying to find a solution for Sacha Boey on Deadline Day. However, the right back’s planned move to England fell through. The Munich club still has options, though, to offload the French player.

It was a quiet Deadline Day at FC Bayern. No new players arrived at Säbener Straße, but on the outgoing side, club officials were still hoping for some movement.

The focus was primarily on Sacha Boey. The Frenchman no longer plays a role in Vincent Kompany’s plans and is expected to leave the club. A potential suitor had recently emerged in the form of Fulham FC. A move to London seemed quite realistic—but that will not happen now.

As transfer insider Matteo Moretto reports, Fulham has backed away from signing Boey. The reason, according to the report, is the situation surrounding Kenny Tete. The right back had initially toyed with the idea of leaving, which would have made room for Boey. Now, however, Tete wants to stay in London. As a result, Fulham no longer has a need for a right back. The transfer window closed at midnight in England as well.

Bayern now have only a few options left regarding Boey

This development is a bitter blow for Munich. The club’s leadership had recently made no secret of the fact that Boey was to be sold.

Bayern have since found solutions for Bryan Zaragoza and Joao Palhinha. Boey, on the other hand, is still there. A move to Hamburger SV, which had been discussed at one point, also fell through.

However, the situation isn’t entirely hopeless yet. In some countries, the transfer window is still open. In Austria, for example, players can still be signed until September 3. Turkey, however, might be a more interesting option for Boey, as transfers are still possible there until September 4.

The 25-year-old knows the Süper Lig very well. Even before his move to Munich, he played for Galatasaray, and he also spent the second half of last season there. Financially, too, some top Turkish clubs might be better positioned to handle Boey’s comparatively high salary.

Another possibility would be Saudi Arabia, where the transfer window remains open until October 12.

Bayern is determined to offload Boey. If no buyer comes forward in the coming days, the right back faces a season without any real athletic prospects—while the record champions would still have to pay his high salary.
